What was the fate of the Jews of this city during the Holocaust?

On 9 October 1941 the Jews from Rădăuți began to be deported to Transnistria. With the exception of 64 professionals, who were kept in town, the rest of the Jewish population was displaced, to the camps and ghettos of Mogilev, Djurin, Odobowka, Bershad, and Balta etc.

How many were murdered? The vast majority.

How many were living in the city from 1945 – 1948? In addition to survivors, who returned to Rădăuți in March 1944, refugees from northern Bucovina also settled in the town; in 1947, approximately 6,000 Jews were living there.

How many emigrated? in 1962 there were approximately 800 Jews.
